The Creative Library is here!

There was a time in my life when I was truly disconnected from my creativity. It was a time of great pain and so much grief. Everything felt too big, too much and way too overwhelming. What surprised me was tht the one thing that I had always relied on (my art) had simply disappeared.

Instead of painting, I threw myself into flower farming. I took an actual course from Floret and learned how to grow ALL the flowers. My garden was abundant and my heart felt at peace. But I missed creating art.

What I learned in that time is that our creativity never leaves us. Sometimes, it just gently waits for us to be ready to be welcomed back in. Creating art of any kind is an incredibly vulnerable thing to do…and pushing ourselves when we are not completely ready is just setting ourselves up for more overwhelm.

Gentle. slow. guidance always works best. Little inspirations that do not require too much of us. Things we can do in small bites. These are the simplest ways for us to reconnect to our creative spark.

Sometimes, we can lose connection with our creativity unexpectedly. (Maybe its not due to grief or stress). Maybe we are just overloaded with the too much-ness of the world or the comparison trap of social media. We might feel like we are stuck doing the same thing, the same way. Looking for inspiration but unsure where to turn. These are the times when simple activities can guide us back to our visual language or a new way of expressing ourselves.

The Creative Library comes from my heart. I adore spending time at any and all libraries. They are one of my happy places for sure. So combining the library with creativity honestly made my heart skip a beat.

My hope is to offer a new volume each month. New themes, new activities, new prompts for play and exploration.

Always free.

The shelves are always growing.
